U16 Bulls Masters squad

Our U16 Bulls Masters squad headed to Bundaberg for a South Qld Country challenge over the weekend, following the cancellation of the Bulls Masters Country challenge in Cairns prior to Xmas.
The lads played two T20s on Saturday against DDSWQ and SEQ followed by a 50 over game on Sunday vs Wide Bay.

They started with a dominant performance against DDSWQ on Saturday morning posting 2 for 153 from their 20 overs and strangled the opposition keeping DDSWQ to under 100 off their 20 overs.
The afternoon T20, whilst not our best performance, was an absolute thriller, with SC requiring 3 runs to win off the final ball to pass SEQ’s total of 104. A boundary was struck resulting in a 2 and 0 Saturday!
Sunday pitched us against our Wide Bay neighbours in a 50 over game and whilst we were a little patchy in certain areas that allowed Wide Bay to score an extra 20-30 than we wanted, with a strong batting line up we felt the 193 scored was well within reach. With another aggressive batting performance from our boys we past Wide Bays total in under 40 overs.

A South Qld side will be selected following this weekend and we can expect to have up to half that side made up of Sunshine Coast players such was the dominance of our squad. Huge shout out, and welcome back to Mark Coles, who jumped in at short notice to Coach these lads for the weekend! It’s brilliant to have ‘Colesy’ back on the Coast and we are hopeful he doesn’t go walkabout to soon.
Head of S & C and assistant coach for the weekend, Ben Gordon, who flew immediately from his U17s National Carnival to Bundaberg to ensure he could support his mates was outstanding all weekend and symbolic of the calibre of the people we love having involved with our programs.

Great weekend for Coast cricket!
