Recently, we had the pleasure of sitting down with the team at Travis Schultz & Partners where we got to chat all things cricket and hear why they decided to come on board this year as our official sponsor.

Q: Hi Travis, tell us a bit about yourself and Travis Schultz & Partners.

Hi! I’m Travis Schultz from Travis Schultz & Partners. We offer unparalleled expertise to clients QLD wide, with offices on the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Cairns. We believe everyone deserves the right to tell their story and easily access legal support. Our firm officially launched on the Sunshine Coast in April 2018 with just two lawyers and three support staff. Since then, the firm has grown to more than 30 in the team and has established a solid reputation. I am passionate about making a positive difference in not only our client lives but also the wider community, particularly children and families of the Sunshine Coast. I love cricket, cricket is a big part of my family’s life. With my son playing as part of the local Sunshine Coast Cricket competition and different Junior Scorcher teams, I know first-hand, how enriching being part of community sport can be for a family.

I am passionate about making a positive difference in not only our client lives but also the wider community.

Q: Why is sponsoring SCCA and The Scorchers important to you?

It was only natural that Travis Schultz & Partners would become sponsors of the Scorchers and the Sunshine Coast Cricket Association. The opportunity to support a sport that brings sportsmanship, athleticism, teamwork, and comradery together in a battle between bat and ball proved irresistible for us.

We’re not your everyday law firm. It is our mission to care for, strengthen and assist the community that supports us. It is our view that our clients could be anyone’s friend, parent, sibling or colleague, which is why it’s so important to us that we’re actively engaged with our local community.

At Travis Schultz & Partners, we have a positive team culture.  With everyone committed to the same goal, there is less emphasis on written rules around how we should work together. Instead, we have a strong emphasis on supporting each other, getting our hands dirty, and pitching in. This is how I see all good cricket clubs working. Values-based partnerships are important to us, and I see that there is an incredibly strong values alignment between Travis Schultz & Partners, the Scorchers, and Sunshine Coast Cricket as a whole.

Being a sponsor is so much more than seeing your brand on the field. It’s about your brand being a part of the community spirit and effot of the teams while they play.

Q: What are some of the positive experiences you’ve had as a sponsor from both a business and community focus perspective?

As a sponsor, we benefit in so many ways. There is the obvious benefit of brand awareness, with our logo on jerseys. For me though, I get an absolute kick when I see a jersey with our logo, worn proudly, as it is more about the investment in the people wearing those jerseys, rather than brand awareness itself.

Being a sponsor is so much more than seeing your brand on the field. It’s about your brand being a part of the community spirit and effort of the teams while they play. The returns for me are so rich – it’s very humbling to see our brand as part of people’s everyday lives.

Q: What’s behind your motivation regarding your generous support?

We know how important sporting associations and clubs are to our communities. Community sport plays an important role in bringing people from all walks of life together, encouraging healthy lifestyles, social and emotional wellbeing, supporting local employment, and building a sense of community pride.

It is also important to highlight the pathway initiatives, and programs SCCA provides to all clubs across the Sunshine Coast. This is something we’re very honoured to be a part of as this enriches the experiences of all cricketers at every level. From training and coaching programs to strategic oversight, we’re proud to support all the leadership work that happens behind-the-scenes and often goes unnoticed.

We’re also appreciative to assist in all the experiences of our local cricketers. These experiences not only create skills and self-confidence, but also develop lifelong friendships, and comradery. How grateful are we that we can contribute to these outcomes, even in a small way!

Q: Any final words?

It’s an exciting time for the Scorchers and Sunshine Coast Cricket as the clubs and the association continue to grow! We look forward to being more involved, investing in the people that make the Sunshine Coast Cricket Association and Sunshine Coast Scorchers so great.
